Russels Russet

Fall ripening. Chance seedling of unknown parentage, Mt. Vernon, ME (Kennebec County).  Discovered near Locke’s Corners in Mt. Vernon by Russell Libby, executive director of Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association (MOFGA). Superb flavor for fall dessert eating. Brownish russet skin. Not a late keeper like Golden Russet.
