Hudsons Golden Gem

Probably the largest-sized high-quality russet, with a pronounced conical shape, smooth, uniformly dull yellow russet skin, a very long stem, and deliciously sugary, juicy, crisp flesh. To most tastes this would be regarded as the finest russet apple for eating out of hand. In taste tests, the flavor has been described as pear-like and nutty. It is a vigorous, productive annual bearer. Discovered in a fence row thicket in Oregon and introduced about 1931 by the Hudson Wholesale Nurseries of Tangent, Oregon. Highly recommended. Late October
